William Breedon is an artist who successfully straddles the past and the present. The art, prints and posters William Breedon creates of American homes, their architecture and their village settings, are of the present, yet manage to convey a feeling of times past-a true sense of Americana.

A master of watercolor, William Breedon’s technique might best be described as “refined detail”, a style that immediately commands the viewer’s attention, invites them into the composition, then detail upon detail convey William Breedon’s nostalgic vision of past traditions still preserved. William Breedon, who started painting in watercolor at the age of 10, has had a classic fine arts education, winning awards and exhibiting his art, prints and posters while still a student at Kent State.

Upon graduation, William Breedon managed to make a living through his art. Starting as a landscape artist, William Breedon began to include subjects into his art, prints and posters. After moving to Colorado, William Breedon became enchanted with America’s past, seeing a vision of an America that exists perhaps only in the mind’s eye. As William Breedon so aptly describes it, he’s never had a “real job”, making a living from his art from the very beginning.
