Qin was born in 1938 in China, Penglai, Shandong Province. Graduated from China’s Zhejiang Academy of Arts in 1963, majored in oil painting. The artist is inspired by Chinese history and folk cultures, combining modern perspectives with traditional cultures, demonstrating oil painting techniques while features of Chinese traditional paintings, calligraphy and paper-cut are also expressed. In his work “Twelve Animals” series, he portrays folk cultures into a psychological level by realistic techniques, which makes the work more effective. In the Art Fair in Italy, Qin’s work was the only work collected by the art fair. In 1998, he is the first Chinese Artist that published limited oil painting in the U.S.
